Transforming our High Traffic Hallway – An update

I’m excited to share the progress weโ€™re making on the hallway project. But before I share the update, as a reminder, here was the hallway before:

And here is the “in progress” hallway- this week we hung the frames and artwork.

Working on the frames and artwork for the hallway took more time than I anticipated. It included changing the frame color. We also swapped out the artwork and found custom frames. Creating the artwork to go into the frames was another task, I’ll share in a later post.

Adding low profile ceiling lighting and box molding has added a sense of height to the hallway.

The extra time it took to finish the frames and photos was worth it. Iโ€™ve discovered with each project, that waiting for the item(s) that fit your space best is the way to go. Donโ€™t rush the process, or the vision. Take the time to save for the higher quality item. Wait for an item that’s the right color. Use the placeholder piece for now. Itโ€™s fine. But donโ€™t settle. Home takes time, and itโ€™s okay if that time is longer than anticipated.

The faux grass cloth wallpaper gives a rich color and texture to the walls.

Up next, we are tackling the biggest project. We will turn our small pantry closet into a built-in with drawers and a cabinet.
