Accent Wall- DIY Design

After painting the wall in my kidโ€™s bathroom the same neutral gray we painted our upstairs hallway, I realized that the view of the bathroom from the hallway was falling flat, and even when I add decor into the space, it would still feel like it was missing something.

So I decided an accent wall was necessary. I had recently seen a cool DIY painted wall design by Sarah Dorsey Designs and decided to use that as the inspiration for my own DIY painted accent wall.

I liked the flow of the vertical lines mixed with the flow of the shapes the lines created. So I purchased some Frog Tape and started to create my own design.

After taping up the beginning of the design I spent some time testing out the colors I wanted to use for the vertical lines to be added inside of the tape lines. My final color plan will incorporate the grey of the bathroom doors (pictured below), white to play off the trim and vanity in the bathroom as well as a lighter hue of the grey.

Because the wall will have a lot of texture and movement I didnโ€™t want the colors to be too bold.

Now itโ€™s time to paint!
