Weekly Outfit Planning for Kids

When my daughter’s room was published on Apartment Therapy, a few readers commented on her Days of the Week bins and how clever they were.

Later I came across a comment on one of my Instagram posts asking how my daughter uses the bins.

I figured I would share our weekly process here on the blog:

On Sundays, I pull up the weather app on my phone and explain each day’s weather to my daughter -Monday through Friday.

Based on the forecast, and any questions she may have about the weather I mention- she picks out an outfit along with undergarments and socks and places them in the daily assigned bin.

After she figures out her outfits, she plans out shoes (which we keep on a shoe rack in the laundry room) and any accessories etc. Planning like this each Sunday, allows for her mornings to be a bit easier, since her outfit and accompanied accessories are ready.

She looks forward to our Sunday planning and I’m hoping this is a habit she can continue as she gets older.
