How To Change a Picture Frame Color

The past few months of transforming our hallway have been dedicated to artwork, and frame selection for the hallway.

After deciding to use large scale images in the hallway, I had to decide on frames. I easily found 24×20 inch frames at the At Home store.

Since moving into our home, I have consistently relied on the At Home store for frames. (Click here to see the frames I used in the kidsโ€™ bathroom design).

After finding the frames I decided to change the color from black to gold. I painted on 2 coats of acrylic gold paint. I let the frames sit overnight to make sure they were completely dry.

Then I added 2 coats of Rub n’ Buff Gold Leaf to the frame. I let each coat dry for one day.

I really like the finish of the Rub n’ Buff. The sheen and color are similar to the lights in the hallway.

This hallway is visible from our kitchen. In the future, we will change the layout and style of the kitchen. I think the hints of gold will go perfectly.
