Must-Have Closet Accessories

One of the things I enjoy about DIY and home decor is picking out the details. I also enjoy figuring out how a space can function better than it did before. One of the first thing I changed in the closet were the hangers, this was more of an aesthetic move on my part. But when the hangers came in, I realized that their velvet feel keeps our clothing in place. This is better than the plastic hangers we originally used.

I purchased the hangers online through Walmart.com. They come in a pack of 50. To start, I purchased two packs.

Although all of our tops are hung on traditional hangers, I did swap out traditional hangers for our pants. I decided to hang our pants on these pants hangers sold on Amazon. They are awesome. They make putting pants away after laundry so easy. I don’t even take the hangers off the closet rods. They also fold down for more storage, which is so convenient.

One item I purchased for my husband was a tie organizer. Before purchasing the organizer, he had no rhyme or reason to how he stored his ties. Now he can see them all. Because the holder rotates, they also take up very little space in the closet.

One of the best deals I found was our new closet mirror. Walmart had a deal of more than 50% off on this floor mirror. It shipped fast and had no damage. It comes in various sizes; I choose the 71″ length. I choose to prop the mirror against the wall. It does have a stand on the back. This means it can sturdily stand in any space or be hung on the wall.

One thing I didn’t buy, but repurposed in the closet were hooks for our clothing. Instead of buying hooks, I used extra curtain rod holders. They are a great because they match the closet color scheme. They are also heavy duty, so they can hold multiple pairs of pants or heavy sweatshirts if needed.

I bought other things for our closet. However, I think these items have made the most difference in the day to day function of our closet.
