As we work on finishing up the closet system shelving, I wanted to share the idea we have for the new closet door.

The current door opens into the closet, so it cuts off a large portion of one side of the closet. We knew we wanted to change the door when we made over the closet, our first idea was to flip the door and hinges, but then the door would open out into the area where Cruzās bedside table will be.
There were two door ideas I saw on Instagram and knew one of them would be the one we used for our walk-in closet.
The first is a mirror door. I love this idea and it was our first option. But upon further research, the track system and lack of handle wouldnāt be ideal for a door we will use multiple times a day. It is a great solution for a closet that has less use, or even a smaller storage closet.

Also the size of the mirror we would need to mount on the door would mean we would possibly have to mount the door on a backing to give it more security. All of which is possible just not for this project.
Once I realized that the mirror door would have to wait for a different space, I found the second option- bifold doors, but not in the traditional way. This presentation of the doors requires taking them apart and having them look like French doors.

I like this option because having the smaller doors will still allow us to keep the layout for the closet and our room the same without having to change any furniture layout. They look nice too.
