Washcloth Rack – The Idea

When I began designing the kidโ€™s bathroom I knew I wanted it to have boutique hotel vibes. A space where everything they need is easy to access, but also aesthetically pleasing, so as they grow, they can find it relaxing and also that their morning/night routines move with ease. I know that means small tweaks will be made over the years, but for now the initial design ticks so many of the boxes.

What I didnโ€™t think about when finishing the bathroom design last year was the lack of a washcloth rack in their shower unit. For some reason our builder decided to exclude them from all the showers in our home. Draping washcloths over the side of the tub and curtain rods is not ideal. So I had to find a solution.

You can see in this image there is no drying bar in the tub/shower unit.

My original idea was a rack with a place to rest towels atop and drape the washcloths too. The problem with the rack was the back well area left a space that we worried could collect mold. Although I tried to fill the well with Flex Seal, the process was too tedious and would take too many cans.

So I scrapped the idea and found a โ€œno drillโ€ towel rack on Amazon. Iโ€™m hoping this option will work and solve our washcloth issue in the kidโ€™s bathroom.

Iโ€™ll share how the install went and the reveal in my next post.
