Real vs. Artificial Christmas Trees: Which to Choose?

A real or artificial tree? Which do you prefer?

For years we have only had real trees, we donโ€™t cut them down or anything, but we do go as a family and pick out a tree.

But last year my son asked for a small tree upstairs that he could decorate. So I bought a small pre-lit artificial tree for our upstairs hallway.

We decided the upstairs tree will be a memory tree, to display all of the kids’ handmade ornaments over the years. I donโ€™t help them decorate, they have full creative freedom, and they really enjoy it!

I will say, the ease of setting up the artificial tree and not having to string lights, or trim it was nice! I also didnโ€™t have to worry about watering it, or the mess of the needles falling off when I took it down.

With that said, and as much as we like the tradition of choosing a tree, and the smell it fills the house with, next year I think we are going to get an artificial tree for the living room.

Iโ€™ve heard so many great things about the King of Christmas trees. I think I may get one of their pre-lit trees, and if I like it for our living room, the year after Iโ€™ll get one for the upstairs hallway.

If you know anything about artificial trees or have a brand you prefer let me know in the comments.

And Iโ€™ll be sure to share which brand we decided to buy next Christmas ๐ŸŽ„
