Benefits of Shampoo Dispensers for Kids’ Bath

When I designed my children’s bathroom this year, I knew one thing I wanted in their shower/bath was a shampoo and conditioner dispenser.

After having the dispenser installed for the past three months, I thought I should share some of the pros and cons.

PROS:

Easy Install – installing the dispenser was very easy, although the instructions mentioned using screws into the tile or wall, our kids have a fiberglass insert for their shower/bath, so instead I used heavy-duty 3M strips on the back, then after the 3M strips had cured for 24 hours I applied silicone caulk to the edges of the dispense to seal and waterproof it.

Easy to Use – Often having shampoo and conditioner bottles in the tub and shower with the kids creates more of a mess than needed. The dispenser allows for none of the bottles to sit inside of the shower/bath and the push spout is easy to use, so the kids don’t end up with excess product wasted in the shower/tub. Over all it’s easy to use and less messy.

Easy to Refill– the dispenser comes with two keys to open and lock the top of each dispenser. I keep the keys in each kid’s bathroom drawer. To refill the dispenser is very simple. Unlock the top and pour the entire content of the shampoo or conditioner bottle into the dispenser. Put the cover back on and lock the top. I know as the kids get older this process will be easy for them to do.

CONS:

Multi-pump use: My children have thick hair, so they need a bit more shampoo and conditioner when they are washing their hair, so it does take multiple pumps to get the desired amount of shampoo and conditioner with each wash. If you have thinner hair or require a small amount of shampoo/conditioner 1-2 pumps would suffice.

Overall the pros definitely outweigh the cons, I’m so glad I installed the dispenser and know it will grow with my children, and bring ease to their morning and night routines.
