As Iโm adding decor into the kidโs bathroom, I knew I wanted to hang some art on the walls. The first thing I did was cut paper to mimic the different size frames I thought would look good in the space.
I started with a square 12×12 format for the sink area and a square 16×16 format above the toilet. Although I liked the square format, while shopping at the At Home store, I found these frames on clearance and the metal loops on the tops of the frames intrigued me. Not to hang them, but to interconnect the frame and make a bit of a geometric display.

I went back home and remeasured the frame sizes to make sure they would fit and then bought 2 of the wooden frames and 4 of the black frames.

To make my idea work, I had to take the looped metal hook off of 3 of the 6 frames and I had to add brackets to the back of all the frames so they would be able to hang on the wall.

Once the brackets were in place I tested the idea to make sure the loops would pair the frames together. I also made some collaged abstract art for the frames.
I spray painted the wood frames a semi gloss finish and added images of my children as babies after bath time. I added the abstract art frames above the toilet.

I love how both sets of frames turned out. The gold loops tie in with the hardware Iโm using in the bathroom, but also give a nice pairing to each display. I also like how the black and white photos as well as the collaged art have the same movement as the hand painted accent wall.
Iโm glad I made these frames into what I wanted them to be, and didnโt pass them up on the clearance rack.
