Kid’s Bathroom – decor details

This week a lot of the decor items I ordered finally came in. It was exciting to open the items and get one step closer to completing the kid’s bathroom the way I envision it.

Because I have a son and a daughter I wanted the style of the bathroom to be unisex and I wanted to lean towards neutral tones, so as they grow older, swapping out decor will be a bit simpler.

In my mind I have little vignettes planned for various parts of the bathroom, but I also have the function of the bathroom as my top priority. When ordering items I kept in mind my kid’s ages (both under 10), and what they need each morning and night to have smooth running routines.

An example of this is a wall mounted hand towel ring – it doesn’t work for my kids- they take the towel off, they scrunch it up trying to rehang it, and sometimes they just grab a new hand towel to not bother with the hanging one. So for us, a hand towel stand with movable arm is a better option. It is closer to the counter making it easier to access and the movable arm makes it easy to add towels to the stand and take them off.

I’ll be sharing more about the items I ordered as I install them over the next few weeks.

But for now- I’ve sourced the items shown in the mood board and I’m sharing them HERE.

  1. I can’t believe that is the focus of this post bc the main thing I remember from our phone call like four years ago (?) was that you had a circle/ring-shaped hand towel holder like mine that doesn’t dry the hand towels!!!!
