Easy DIY: Changing a Toilet Handle in Your Bathroom

When figuring out the design for the kidโ€™s bathroom one thing I knew I wanted to do was integrate the black countertop of their vanity into the decor and change out all the hardware in the bathroom to gold.

While waiting for the tub and vanity hardware to come in, I decided to swap out the handle on the toilet.

Although the handle is a bit shinier than what I had wanted, I do like the shape and size, so I think it will work with the overall design of the bathroom.

This was my first time changing out a toilet handle and I was surprised at how easy it was! I shared the full video tutorial on my Instagram here, in my story highlights.

Once the handle was added the metal piping on the toilet was bothering me. So I decided to change the color of it.

I used Rub n Buff to change the tone of the metal to have it blend more smoothly with the new look of the toilet.

Prepped the wall with painters tape

Second coat before buffing the metal

Im happy with the full look of the toilet and canโ€™t wait for the rest of the hardware to come in and install.
