Kid’s Bathroom- the idea

The first room on my list of spaces to transform in our house for 2023 is our kid’s bathroom. Although it is the smallest space on my list, it gives our family the most functionality for our morning and night routines. The kids bathroom is currently bare bones, with just the necessities no decor or even mirror; so I have a blank canvas to start with.

Because I have a son and daughter I want the bathroom to be unisex. I’m going with a grey, black and white color scheme. I’m also going to focus on drawer and cabinet storage and bath/shower organization.

I’ve started sourcing most of my decor from Target and Wayfair. But the inspiration for the room is the Freestyle Rug by Keith Haring for Ruggables. I love the playfulness of the rug, and that it is washable. Once I knew this was the focal point of my decor, I began picking all of the rest of the items around the style and color of the rug. I’m looking forward to ordering the items and seeing how they work in the space.

I’m also looking forward to seeing how my design fits the function of the bathroom and if the kids like the design and new organizational aspects once it’s done. But, before I begin adding to the room, I have to paint. I plan to paint the walls, doors, and vanity.
