In the Weeds

The first thing we knew we had to tackle once we moved to our new home was the yard and front flower bed. The builder didnโ€™t provide landscaping, so when we closed on the house and pulled up we were greeted by a lengthy front and back yard of weeds along with a hidden front flower bed – it was hard to see if any bushes and plants were originally planted.

Our neighbors were nice enough to lend us their lawnmower but that same day Cruz made his first purchase for the house – an EGO electric lawn mower and weed whacker.

After realizing most of the yard is crab grass- he knows he has a long journey to recovering the yard and getting it to where he wants it to be. But heโ€™s excited about it all and I canโ€™t wait to see the process!

I was tasked with the flower bed in front of the house. I didnโ€™t realize until once I began how many weeds had set up some serious roots until I got to pulling them up. It was a two day process, that once complete, was so satisfying to see all cleaned up with the original plants and bushes.

We have an idea of how we would like to have this area set up and the overall look, but donโ€™t plan on tackling it until the Spring.

Overall not bad for a weekendโ€™s worth of yard work.
