Incredibles! Themed Birthday Party

This past weekend was my daughterโ€™s birthday. Usually we celebrate with a simple cake or cupcakes to mark the occasion ( last year we made My Little Pony colored frosting), but on her 2nd Birthday we threw her a Minions themed party – (click the link HERE to see all the DIY fun I had for that party)

I decided since 5 is a pretty big deal and this yearย  was a big year – she became a big sister and started school full-time – that a surprise party would be a great way to celebrate.

Although My Little Pony has had her heart for years now, this summer The Incredibles 2 movie came out and she has been obsessed. She has all the character action figures and loves playing with Elasti-Girl on her Elasti-cycle.

For her party I made felt masks, logo t-shirts and themed place setting.

I painted each shirt after she went to bed, so it was a task keeping the party a secret, but so worth her excitement when she realized she and all her friends were going to get to be super heroes for her birthday.

For each shirt I used a template for the โ€œIโ€

I free hand painted the rest – 3 coats

All finished and ready for the party

For the felt masks I created a cardboard template:

I placed the template on folded felt and cut out each mask

To make them durable I doubled the felt and hot glued the pieces together.

I secured the mask ribbons with staples and hot glue.

Each child at the party received a mask and logo t-shirt

We did have a few older kids attend the party so they got โ€œBig Kids Bagsโ€ with a mask and candy inside.

The logo was printed and glued onto the bag.

The place settings were fun to create. I drew and colored the logo on sticker backed paper and attached them to the napkins.

I used Canva to create the bottle labels and the layout for the Birthday banner.
